Codeplay is attending CppCon 2016

Codeplay will be attending CppCon 2016 which is taking place from 18-23 September 2016, in Bellevue, Seattle.

CppCon is the annual, week-long face-to-face gathering for the entire C++ community. The conference is organized by the C++ community for the community. and generally have a stimulating experience. The conference is a project of the Standard C++ Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to support the C++ software developer community and promote the understanding and use of modern, standard C++ on all compilers and platforms.

Attending from Codeplay will be Michael Wong, VP of Research & Development and Gordon Brown, Staff Software Engineer, SYCL. Michael and Gordon will be presenting "Towards Heterogeneous Programming in C++" on Tuesday 20 September. This talk will present the recent rise in demand for heterogeneous programming in C++ and the new challenges that this brings to the C++ community. It will then take a look at some of the different programming languages and models that have arrived in the heterogeneous landscape, the motivations behind them, how they have attempted to solve those challenges and what we can learn from them. Finally it will take a look at the future of heterogeneous programming in C++ and what that might look like.
