Assistant Accountant

This role is central to the success of the finance function and the business as a whole.  Within Codeplay, the assistant accountant has a varied and interesting set of key tasks.  These range from transactional processes in both Sales and Purchase areas, Bank Reconciliations across 2 banks and 4 currencies through to Payroll and producing management accounts to Trial Balance.  Additionally, preparation and submission of grant claims and VAT returns on a quarterly basis add to the breadth of the role.

Working with the Finance Director, this role will have an understanding of the wider business, the forecasting and budgeting of the business, with the opportunity to contribute to the finance strategy.  Being a small team with the full remit of a finance function, continuous improvement and challenging the current procedures and ways of working is welcomed.  Efficiency and effectiveness are essential to the department's operation.

Although the nature of the role will ordinarily require being office-based, we will consider and evaluate requests for hybrid or remote working.

The position is permanent and may be based at our head office in central Edinburgh. The successful candidate must, by the start of their employment, have the right to work  in the UK.
