If you are moving to the UK


If you move to the UK before 31 December 2020, you will need to register with the Home Office for "Pre Settled Status". This will confirm that you are entitled to continue to live and work in the UK after 1 January 2021.

Once you have lived in the UK for five years, you will be able to apply to the UK Government for "Settled Status" which will allow you to live in the UK permanently.

The deadline for applying for Pre Settled Status or Settled Status will be 30 June 2021 and registration is compulsory.

Registering if you move to the UK before December 2020 You will have to register online to be granted "Pre Settled Status". This will cost £65 and the process should only take a few weeks.

When you complete five years residence you will be able to upgrade your status to "Settled Status".
